The purchase and sales link six consecutive months of increments
The purchase of homes increased by 9.7% last September in relation to the same month of 2017, to add 42,766 operations, as reported by the National Statistics Institute (INE) on Tuesday.
The interannual advance of September, with which the purchase and sale of homes have six consecutive months of increases, is greater than that achieved in August when this indicator rose by 7.4%.
The transactions on used homes increased by 9.6% in September compared to the same month of 2017, to total 34,750, while the sale of new homes advanced by 9.8% year-on-year, to 8,016 transactions.
90.3% of the dwellings transmitted by sale in the ninth month of the year were free dwellings and 9.7% were protected. The sale of free dwellings increased by 9.3% in September in interannual rate, to total 38,621 transactions, while operations on subsidized housing advanced by 13.8%, with 4,145 transactions.
In monthly terms (September on August), the sale of homes fell by 4.2%, compared to the monthly decrease of 6.2% registered in September 2017.
