After months and years of uncertainty, Tarragona finally could begin the works of the new Hard Rock Hotel this year. An incredible construction which will attract millions of tourists to the Costa Brava.
The Generalitat has finally authorized the casino license that should make possible the arrival of the leisure and gaming complex Hard Rock Entertainment World to the grounds of the "Center Recreatiu Turístic (CRT) of Vila-seca and Salou".
The forecast is that in the coming weeks, responsible for the Generalitat and the company will disclose the details of the investment in a joint appearance. At the moment, there is no fixed date. It will be soon, they say.
In a period of three years would be open for the company to develop its architectural proposal, with the corresponding facilities and equipment. But for this first they must have the urban licenses, that is to say, the required conditions must be given to grant the municipal building licenses.
As recalled from the Department of Economy, three months before the end of this period of three years must ask for permission to open the casino.
The area of the hotel will have a maximum capacity of 745,000 square meters for different uses. Its global investment is estimated at around two million euros, including the cost of land and infrastructure, "which will be developed in phases over the next five years." It will also have the capacity for concerts of more than 15,000 people and "a Hard Rock Live venue that will host musical acts and regional and international shows, as well as the world-famous Hard Rock Cafe and a Rock Shop companion, presenting authentic Hard Rock merchandise".
The area destined for the game will occupy 7,595 square meters. There will be two hotels in a space of 63,000; an exterior commercial space of about 15,000 square meters and another one dedicated to the restoration of 5,900. The space of entertainment will also be about 6,000 square meters.
The forecast is that the project creates more than 11,500 jobs in construction. And it seeks to attract more than two million visitors to the Costa Daurada. "The investment in phase one will surpass 700 million euros and it is estimated that it creates more than 2,000 jobs," they say from the US giant. And they speak of an economic impact of more than 1,300 million euros.
