Barcelona impressive Arquitecture

You might have walked through the streets of Barcelona, delighted with its fantastic views, its gorgeous buildings and its magnificent Arquitecture. Today, though, we present you this colourful work you might have failed to notice.

Santa Caterina Market in Barcelona, where Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue of EMBT Miralles Tagliabue Arquitects Associats created a huge, undulating canopy for an existing, neo-classical-style market building in a large square in 2005.

The canopy consists of a mosaic of 325,000 hexagonal brick tiles "whose various colors recall a sill life of produce," according to the exhibition's catalogue, which also noted that "an elevator will be completed in the coming year to bring visitors up from market level."Barcelona impressive Arquitecture

This fantastic video of the 3D rendering was created by Tronic Studio in New York. Its metaphor of the Real Estate bubble together with the air-construction of this magnificent building makes it an appealing target for luxury buyers.

The real estate in question here is the 57-story luxury residence, 56 Leonard, in Tribeca, designed by the Pritzker-prize winning, Beijing Bird Nest-creating Swiss firm of Herzog & de Meuron. Tronic tapped into their architecture background to envision this video where the elements of each floor fall down from the Manhattan sky and land on the custom-designed sculpture by Anish Kapoor. Absolutely brilliant.

Magnificent Arquitecture. Metropol Parasol by J. Mayer H.

This magnificent Metropol Parasol is well-known in Spain by being the place chosen for the 15-M  in Seville. The 2011 Spanish protests, also referred to as the 15-M Movement and the Indignants movement, are a series of ongoing demonstrations in Spain whose origin can be traced to social networks and Real Democracy NOW (Spanish: Democracia Real YA) among other civilian digital platforms and 200 other small associations.

But we are talking Arquitecture here. Architects J. Mayer. H are the authors of a giant latticed timber canopy as part of their redevelopment of the Plaza de la Encarnación in Seville, Spain.

The Metropol Parasol scheme includes an archaeological museum, a farmers market, an elevated plaza, and bars and restaurants, all contained beneath and within the parasol structure.

The new media art school in Malaga is a clear example of fine arquitecture brought to society

Be amazed. Spain is starting to be part of a new arquitectural movement. Fine arquitecture starts to be all around us. You can breathe it in the streets, in all public buildings such as libraries or universities. Houses are being constructed with a new sense of taste. It might be a difficult period for much of us, but, the positive side is things we felt like we could never reach in other times, are pretty affordable nowadays.

An example for this wonderful reconstruction of the world we live in are libraries and universities. The new school for media art in Málaga, situated in the South of Spain, is a magnificent piece of art made for us mere citizens.

irs - Interest Rate Swap will make Things Harder for Homebuyers in SpainAs it appears today in The Washington Post, central banks expand system of ‘swapping’ money to ease credit crunch. The Interest Rate Swap (IRS) tax will substitute Euribor next April 2012 in Spain.

The Washington Post explains it this way: "The swap lines are a global form of the central bankers’ “lender of last resort” role, backing the world banking system.

The way it works is the Fed lends dollars to, say, the ECB, in exchange for euros of comparable value. The ECB pays interest, and lends out the dollars to banks in the euro currency area that have obligations in dollars but are temporarily unable to borrow dollars to meet them.

The swap lines themselves are not new — they were first introduced in December 2007 in response to deepening difficulties of banks funding themselves. They were used in vast amounts during the financial crisis in the fall of 2008 and were reintroduced in May 2010 when Europe’s financial troubles worsened".

Substituting Euribor with the Interest Rate Swap tax, though, will make Spanish banks interest grow up to one point. Consequently, homebuyers will end up paying higher interests in their mortgages.

Not so sure this will make things easier for mere citizens.
