This white residence - La Moraleja - by Otto Medem Arquitectura is located in Alcobendas, Madrid. The building concept revolved around its particular site, where the ground is home to many century-old oak trees and, like the foliage, which encircle the house, the internal space revolves around a central, open air courtyard, where a single oak tree stands against the contemporary structure.

From the architect. On a site in the higher part of a residential zone in the environs of Murcia is located the singular, crossed house with views to the adjacent mountains, the “Sierra de la Pila” and “Valle del Ricote”. From the ambiguity, being on a site of a future densely built-up area and at the same time enjoying today’s unsurpassable views, was born the idea of the project: to orientate the lower level of the house to the garden’s intimacy and grant to the user at the superior level the delight of its views considering future edification and the influence of solar radiation.

On a parcel in the hills outside Barcelona, RTA-Office designed House and Studio YC with two objectives in mind. The first was to preserve as many of the site’s trees as possible, allowing them to grow around any new construction. The second was simply to generate variety. ‘Variety of view; variety of colour; variety of light,’ says RTA-Office’s Simona Assiero Brá. ‘That is the main focus of the house, to capture segments of natural light and accentuate their changes throughout the day and year depending on the season and weather.’

The project of this house situated in Tenerife, Canary Islands, is a hard-won synthesis of a tropical, volcanic environment, an unusually narrow lot, an eccentric client brief and the architect's own academic ideals.

Spanish firm Nook Architects has renovated a Barcelona apartment by adding patterned floor tiles plus a combined step and window seat leading out onto the terrace.

The Casa Sal apartment in the Poble Sec district of the city is only three metres wide and 19 metres long.

Nook Architects covered the kitchen, bathroom and study with patterned ceramics to divide up the space visually. They then used wooden flooring for a softer look and feel in the rest of the home.

This Spanish home is a sophisticated attic space, designed by architect Luis Velasco Roldán, looking out over a rich expanse of village greenery, which is continued into the dwelling in the form of small inner courtyards, patio and greenhouse, to promote connection between interior and exterior spaces. The dwelling, based in Selva (Mallorca) has a minimalist décor that is brought to life with the abundance of plants and shrubs that give an injection of color and softens the hard edges of the modern construction.

From the architects: Located in Marbella (Málaga), on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, the Jellyfish House's neighbouring buildings block its view onto the nearby sea. Appropriately, it was chosen to cantilever the house's pool from its roof, so that the beach and sea can always be seen while sunbathing or swimming.

From the architect - OAM Arquitectos -: With just one bow movement, a violin virtuoso is able to produce a sixty seconds continuous sound. In this lapse of time, the musical note flows constantly without sound alterations. The notes will be tied together by means of the legato which indicates that musical notes are played or sung smoothly and connected with no interruptions at all.
