Between 1 January and 30 April, there were 1,736 applications to register rental properties, compared with just 246 in the same period of 2015. Next Wednesday is the first day that registration numbers will be assigned, enabling owners to rent their properties legally.
The new decree states that any property in Andalucía must be registered if it is habitually rented out for holidays at a price set by the owner and is marketed through tourism channels such as travel agents or online platforms.
